Malaysian-style Burgers in Melbourne's East

One of the foods that invoke nostalgia amongst Malaysians living overseas is the late night favourite Ramly Burger, typically served at roadside stalls and food trucks.

We recently went to try out Uncle Ramlee's Burger located in Burwood. It's one of only 2 places in Melbourne that serves Ramly Burgers.

The verdict: very good, authentic and sloppy (like any good Ramly Burger). The beef patty is not overcooked but done to a nice medium. Tastes very good but limited seating available onsite.

One key note, the beef patty is too good quality to be a Ramly Beef Patty. 😜

Malaysia National Street Food Burger

Malaysia's national late night street food burger. This one by Brader John is exceptionally good with fried crispy onions and is extremely sloppy.
And if it's not sloppy enough for you, they provide additional bottles of BBQ, mayo & chilli sauce at the tables.

This used to be out after school meal when we were school kids but it has since grown into a different style altogether as a late night street food.

However, the waiting time at Brader John can be quite long, anywhere from 45mins to 1.5 hours. It's best to take note of their mobile no. and call in your order before you arrive.

Friday Ultimate Burgers for Lunch

Enjoyed this delicious and juicy The Ultimate Burger at this cafe in South Melbourne (near the South Melbourne Market). It is very delicious with bacon, cheese, caremelised onions and a thick juicy patty. It's value for money on Fridays (as it's discounted to $10 on Friday).
